La Cà Nova, has its roots in fertile soil, where the vine has been grown since the dawn of time: we are in Piedmont, in the lands of kings and marquises, in Monferrato . When you talk about these areas in your mind you can imagine expanses of rolling hills, characterized by evocative vineyards and a cottage beyond. And here, in Cella Monte , a small town between Asti and Alessandria, there is La Cà Nova, a winery that has been owned by the Bellero family since the early 1900s.
The name of the winery, dating back to the end of the seventeenth century , derives from “Canova”, the name of the ancient farmhouse of the maternal family of Marco Bellero, current owner, located in Rosignano, already belonging to the Gazzone counts to which the coat of arms of the company: three towers of silver surmounted by a golden roof on which two magpies stand on the front. In the second half of the 800’s Marco’s great-grandparents, in order to proceed with the construction of their farmhouse in Cella Monte, dug in the stone of the canton, the infernot, a very resistant yellowish sandstone. Today, strong of a solemn tradition, of the passion he had since young Marco produces different types of wines: Barbera d’Asti, Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese, Monferrato Freisa, Monferrato Casalese Cortese, Piedmont Bonarda, Monferrato Rosso.
